10.06.2016 – New Testament: Phi 2.20–23
To read the Bible in a year, read Philippians 2 on October 6, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
Can you find people who think as you do? I have, and I have found them in the church, so that no matter where I go in the world, I discover instant family and friends, because we think the same way. Cherish that, if you have found it, even as Paul did,
For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus. But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel. Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it goes with me (Philippians 2.20–23).
Whatever Paul would have done there with the Philippians, so would Timothy do, because they both centered their minds on Christ Jesus. Center your mind on Christ, and discover the friends you make along the way.
Questions:
- Do you have problems making friends in the church?
- If so, why do you think that is?
This is a true blessing. Some people criticize us for having a monolithic culture in the church. I think you put your finger on it: we share the same mentality, as per 1 Cor 1.10.

Amen. Now how do we get the world to see this amazing, and for me, unexpected blessing?

Invite them in. Mt 5.16, Jn 13.34-35, and 1 Cor 14.25.
