08.14.2017 – Old Testament: Psa 101.3–4
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 99–102 on August 14, In the year of our Lord 2017
By Don Ruhl
David had said that he would behave himself wisely in a perfect way and that he would walk within his house with a perfect heart. Then he declared,
I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;
I hate the work of those who fall away;
It shall not cling to me.
A perverse heart shall depart from me;
I will not know wickedness.
(Psalm 101.3–4)
To behave wisely and to walk with a perfect heart, he would not set anything wicked before his eyes, and a perverse heart he would send away from himself, nor would he know wickedness.
Perhaps someone says that is too much to ask, but who can act in a God-pleasing way without doing those things?
Questions:
- Would people be surprised to see how you live at home?
- What have you purposed to do and not to do in your life?
Let’s pray that all God’s servants may follow David’s resolve. Thanks for the good reminder.
