02.01.2019 – Old Testament: Exo 28.31–32
To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 27–28 on February 1, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
How the priests presented themselves to God, even in what they wore, was important to God. Concerning the robe, He said:
“You shall make the robe of the ephod all of blue. There shall be an opening for his head in the middle of it; it shall have a woven binding all around its opening, like the opening in a coat of mail, so that it does not tear” (Exodus 28.31–32).
Everything about worship in the tabernacle had to be perfect or had to be done perfectly. Here God wanted to make sure that when they made the robe, that they had a binding around the opening for the head, for if they did not have that binding, then as they put it on and put it off over time, it would tear, and it would then not be perfect.
- Are you perfect?
- If you are not perfect, who makes you perfect so that you are presentable to the Lord?
