Jesus healed a man who had been born blind, but the Pharisees did not believe that the man had been born blind, because they did not believe Jesus was of heaven. Therefore, they outright rejected any claim that he had done a miracle. 

To prove their point, when they heard that Jesus had healed a blind man, they questioned him and did not believe what he said. Therefore, they talked to his parents: 

But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind and received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight. And they asked them, saying, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”

– John 9.18–19 

So they did not believe the man. The next best thing was to ask his parents. The question is, were their preconceived ideas on Jesus going to keep them from accepting the truth about this man, regardless of who said it? I’ll let you read the rest of the story and find out. 

There is nothing wrong with investigating claims, but be open and be prepared to accept what you discover.
