A physician recorded the birth of the Son of God in these brief words, “So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:6-7).
Note these things:
1. Mary had traveled from Nazareth to Bethlehem during the latter part of the third trimester of her pregnancy. What do you women think of that?
2. She wrapped Jesus in swaddling clothes.
3. She laid Him in a manger.
4. No rooms were available at the inn.
Not only did God choose a virgin, a holy woman, through whom to send His Son into the world, but He chose a woman of physical strength and stamina. What a woman!
