Why do we believe that hardship signals that God has something against us, and that prosperity means God favors us? Paul told Timothy, “You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2:3).
That passage alerts us to the fact that Jesus allows us to have hardships, and that it is a sign we are active in His army. Therefore, do not look down upon hardship, but endure for Jesus’ sake, even as you would gladly endure hardship for your nation.
