God used water once to destroy the earth, but a far greater destruction is on its way, which will include more than the earth, and it will do more damage to the earth, “But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men” (2 Peter 3:7).
The next universal destruction will include the heavens, and Peter writes later that it will destroy the entire planet, clear to the core, and not just the surface.
Also in that day, God will judge ungodly men, for their time will have finally arrived.
Knowing that such a day is coming, how should we live?
