Jesus reminded His disciples of when He had sent them out to preach earlier, “And He said to them, ‘When I sent you without money bag, knapsack, and sandals, did you lack anything?’ So they said, ‘Nothing'” (Luke 22:35).
They learned that He will provide for their needs when they do His work. He continued, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one” (Luke 22:36).
While the Lord would provide for them, they also needed to do their part and provide for their needs, but during those times when that would be hard, He would still be there for them.
Bear your own burden, but trust that the Lord is working in your life to provide you with what you need.
