After interviewing Jesus, Pilate brought Him out to the Jews, “Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, ‘Crucify Him, crucify Him!’ Pilate said to them, ‘You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him'” (John 19:6).
Pilate did not believe Jesus had broken Roman law so that there was no need to crucify Him, yet, Pilate seemed to have no problem allowing the Jews to crucify Jesus. Amazing!
Pilate could not bring himself to crucify an innocent man, but the governor also wanted to appease the Jews.
We know, of course, that in time Pilate did crucify Jesus. However, if you had been in Pilate’s position, what would you have done at this point?
