Solomon said,

“Surely oppression destroys a wise man’s reason, and a bribe debases the heart” (Ecclesiastes 7:7).

Therefore, be sure that you are never the oppressor and that you never offer a bribe, for while it may seem that doing those things makes life better, they do not and will come back to bite you later!
