In Second Timothy 3:1-7, Paul prophesied of apostasy in the church, and concerning those leading and following in this apostasy, he wrote,

“Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was” (2 Timothy 3:8-9).

When you discover someone who resists the truth as Pharaoh’s magicians did, then you have discovered someone with a corrupt mind, and disapproved concerning the faith, and in time you will see their folly, for they will not be able to progress, even as the folly of Pharaoh’s magicians, Jannes and Jambres, did not progress, but they did ridiculous things such as increasing the plagues upon Egypt.
