The Lord spoke to Habakkuk the prophet of the Chaldeans, revealing what they believed was their god,
“Then shall he sweep by as a wind, and shall pass over, and be guilty, even he whose might is his god” (Habakkuk 1:11, American Standard Version of 1901).
The Chaldeans, also known as the Babylonians, were truly mighty, and they let that go to their heads, believing that their awesome power was their god.
The Lord God of Israel used the Chaldeans to punish Judah, but when He had finished that job, and the Chaldeans had grown more arrogant, the Lord dispensed with them!
Their strength let them down in time of need.
In what do you trust? If it is anything other than the God of the Bible, then it will fail. What will you do then? Be sure that your trust is truly in God, and in His blessed Son Jesus Christ.
