After asking what profit does man have under the sun from all the work he does, Solomon then declared,

“One generation passes away, and another generation comes; but the earth abides forever” (Ecclesiastes 1:4).

One generation after another works for profit, but each generation passes away. The earth continues on, but every generation goes away. They work, but all that labor is not for earth only.

For what then do you labor? Why do you exist? Are you fulfilling your purpose? Do you know that when you leave this earth, you shall meet God who shall require an accounting of your time and labor on the earth?
