We reap in kind according to what we sow. Plant watermelons; reap watermelons. However, plant one watermelon; reap a few watermelons. Plant one hundred watermelons, and you will have far more than you could ever eat. That law of nature copies a law of the spirit, and Paul used that law concerning our contribution to the church,

“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6).
