Forty-six times the prophet Ezekiel said,

“Also the word of the Lord came to me, saying…” (Ezekiel 24:15).

Since we have divided his book up into forty-eight chapters, that means on average that expression occurs once every chapter, with two exceptions. Of course, some of those references happen more than once in a chapter.

Here is the point. Ezekiel emphasized that he spoke the word of the Lord, and not something of his own making. Did Ezekiel speak the word of the Lord? Has it proven true? Everything the prophet said concerning nations, history verifies.

We had better listen then to what he wrote.
