Jesus taught,

“If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also” (Matthew 5:40).

We want to hang on to our things, even if it means sacrificing our lives, but life is more than our clothing, and the souls of those seeking to take from us, have greater value than our things.
Therefore, we release ourselves from the things of this world that we might seek the souls of this world.
