The life of Ishmael

Ishmael was a son of Abraham. Therefore he lived a long time,

“These were the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people. (They dwelt from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt as you go toward Assyria.) He died in the presence of all his brethren” (Genesis 25:17–18).

The length of his life did not match those of the pre-flood world, but his years certainly outmatched the average number of years of people living today.

Of course, we all want to live forever, but we cannot do that here, although modern science and medicine are doing their best to make it happen. However, they will ultimately fail, because God gives eternal life, but not on the earth, rather we experience it in heaven.
You can live forever with God in heaven by following Him all the days of your life, learning from His Son Jesus and obeying His commands.
