What set Abraham apart from the rest of the world that the Lord used the man to bless world? I do not know everything about Abraham, but I can show you what happened when his wife died, and he needed a place to bury her.

He approached the people of the land for a specific place that he wanted, but the people respected him highly and wanted to give him the land. However, Moses wrote,

“Then Abraham bowed himself down before the people of the land; and he spoke to Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying, ‘If you will give it, please hear me. I will give you money for the field; take it from me and I will bury my dead there’” (Genesis :12–13).

Do you see the spirit of Abraham? He did not use the respect they had for him to take from them. He was a giver, not a taker. I believe that reveals at least some of the reasons why the Lord chose Abraham.
