Readiness and willingness to die

Jacob thought that Joseph was dead. Some of you know how Jacob felt, but when he saw his son again, Jacob felt so good he said,

“Now let me die, since I have seen your face, because you are still alive” (Genesis 46:30).

He did not mean that he wanted to die, but he was ready and willing, knowing that Joseph was alive, and that Jacob saw his son’s face again.
Some of you may also know the feeling of Jacob, because for a long time you had been separated from one of your children.

Many of us have never had either experience, but we know that in the resurrection we shall see other loved ones who have gone before us, and the joy shall be beyond description!
