The Lord does not ask you to do that which you are not able to do, but some people do not realize how much they can do. When a woman poured an expensive oil on the head of Jesus, some of His disciples complained that it was a waste, and that it could have been sold, and the proceeds given to the poor. However, Jesus rebuked them, and said,
“She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial. Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her” (Mark 14:8–9).
His words have been fulfilled, for here we are reading of what she did, and so what little she was able to do has served as a memorial to her.
Are you doing what you can do?
