After the Lord spoke to Joshua, telling that he could have success by meditating in God’s word, the Bible then shows Joshua doing the following,

Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, “Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess’” (Joshua 1:10–11).

Some people have the idea that living by faith means making no provisions or plans for the future, but those who believe such are misinformed.

Joshua received instructions and commands from God, then Joshua told the officers to make provisions for a future event.

Living by faith means living by God’s instructions, and believing that He will provide what is necessary to follow those instructions.
