The daughters of Zelophehad

God cared for the women of Israel as much as He cared for the men, demonstrated when the daughters of Zelophehad approached Moses, saying that their father had no sons, and they questioned why they should be left out of the acquisition of land.

However, once Israel got into the Land of Canaan, they approached the leaders of Israel and reminded them that the Lord had said through Moses that they could have land,

But Zelophehad the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but only daughters. And these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. And they came near before Eleazar the priest, before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the rulers, saying, “The Lord commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers.” Therefore, according to the commandment of the Lord, he gave them an inheritance among their father’s brothers. Ten shares fell to Manasseh, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side of the Jordan, because the daughters of Manasseh received an inheritance among his sons; and the rest of Manasseh’s sons had the land of Gilead (Joshua 17:3 –6).

They claimed the promise made to them. The Lord has also made promises to Christians, that whatever we need to get His will done, He will provide it (2 Corinthians 9:8).

Therefore, claim that promise and get busy doing His work, whether you are a man or a woman.
