Jesus spoke a parable of a sower who sowed seed, bringing up different qualities of plants, not because the seed was different, but the ground was. Then He began to give the interpretation of the parable,

“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God” (Luke 8:11).

You know how seed works. You put it in the ground and it starts to work, and soon a tiny plant sprouts up. The word of God works in a similar way. It gets into your heart, and depending upon your reaction to the seed, it displays itself in various ways.
