Often we only think of what we like and do not like, but when Jesus sent out the seventy, He told them,

“And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house. Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you” (Luke 10:7–8).

They were to act in such a manner, thinking of their hosts, because the seventy went out doing the Lord’s will, and not their own. Paul said to the Corinthian Church,

If any of those who do not believe invites you to dinner, and you desire to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for conscience’ sake (1 Corinthians 10:27).

Therefore, learn to think of others, not offending them unnecessarily rather than simply thinking of what you like and do not like.
