Do not spread falsehood, and do not believe everything you hear, but some things we hear we have to accept because they are the truth.

Therefore, when the women who saw either the empty of Jesus or saw Him, they told the apostles,

And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them. But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened (Luke 24:11–12).

At least Peter investigated the claims of the women, although he did not know what to think when he saw the empty tomb. However, it established him as a credible witness later.
