Jesus healed a man on the Sabbath, and when the leaders confronted the man, he did not know who had healed him. Later, Jesus found the man and this happened,
Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well (John 5:14–15).
This man was not able to move around for thirty-eight years, but Jesus warned him that if he continued in sin, something worse than the problem that he had for the past four decades would happen to him. What could be worse?
The man told the Jewish leaders that Jesus was the healer, but of course, the man did not realize the evil intentions that the leaders had.
