David wanted to build a temple for God, but He would not let David do it, rather God wanted Solomon to build the house, and that included the furnishings,
Thus Solomon had all the furnishings made for the house of God: the altar…the tables…the lampstands…the trimmers, the bowls, the ladles, and the censers of pure gold. As for the entry of the sanctuary, its inner doors to the Most Holy Place, and the doors of the main hall of the temple, were gold (2 Chronicles 4:19–22).
That must have been beautiful, and you can imagine why people, like the queen of Sheba, traveled to see the magnificent sight that had become famous even among the nations, bringing glory to God.
The temple of God now is the church, not the building where the church meets, but the people. We are living stones in the temple of God. Such is a beautiful sight to the God of heaven. Let it be to us also.
