The Battle Is God’s

A great army approached Judah, Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. He feared, but did the right thing and spoke to God of it. God then used a prophet to reassure the king,

Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel…And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them…You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you” (2 Chronicles 20:14–17).

God was with Judah. Therefore, they had nothing to fear, regardless of the size of the army of the enemy. In this case, the battle was God’s and all Judah had to do was go to a location designated by God and watch what He would do.

They had to do something, but God fought the battle, and they just got to enjoy the spoils of it.

Remember that for us, the battle is between God and Satan. Stay with God, and He will make sure you are on the winning side. Do not worry. Do not fear.
