King Hezekiah knew why God’s people had suffered in the past, and the king wanted to do whatever he could to make things right, as he explained to the priests,
“Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, that His fierce wrath may turn away from us. My sons, do not be negligent now, for the Lord has chosen you to stand before Him, to serve Him, and that you should minister to Him and burn incense” (2 Chronicles 29:10–11).
While the king could do things alone for his own sake, yet, for the land and for Jerusalem, he needed help, and he let the priests know what they were supposed to do.
Do not try to change the world by yourself. Do what you can with your own life, and then seek help from others to work on matters that are beyond your own self.
