You do your best to do good works, but someone, guaranteed, will find something wrong with it, just as when the apostles, after Jesus baptized them in the Holy Spirit, proclaimed the great works of God, and many people were amazed by what they heard, yet, others were not impressed,
Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine” (Acts 2:13).
As the apostles spoke in various languages, some of the Jews would not understand a language that they heard, since it would be an unknown tongue to them. Thus, to them, it merely sounded as though the apostles were drunk.
Imagine that! Rather than investigating to find out what was going on, some of the critics of the apostles accused them of being drunk while they spoke of the great works of God!
Peter used their criticism to launch into one of the greatest sermons ever!
