Praying for favor from people of the world

As Nehemiah concluded a prayer to God for help to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, he said,

“O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man” (Nehemiah 1:11).

Nehemiah pleaded for God to hear, and for God to hear others praying, who also desired to fear God’s name, and both they and Nehemiah prayed that he might find favor in the sight of the Persian king.

Nehemiah knew that if he gained the favor of the king, he would have all the supplies and authority for rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem that he needed.

If you need to find favor before someone who has authority over you, pray as Nehemiah did and see what happens.
