Even the enemies of the church could see that the instantaneous healing works of the apostles were genuine miracles,
And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it” (Acts 4:14–16).
They consulted among themselves, questioning what they should do to the apostles, fearing the miracle they had just performed would increase their influence.
Should not the Jewish Council been considering that if it was a genuine miracle, they should change their position and accept the truth the apostles were preaching?
Yet, when we get set in our ways, we will hardly change for anything, if at all.
