Satan challenged God on why Job feared God, believing that Job feared God because of how much God had blessed Job and protected him from harm, saying,

“Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” (Job 1:10–11).

For some people, Satan speaks the truth, because they do serve God for all the blessings. Then when they no longer experience the blessings, they curse Him, or turn away from Him.

What about you? Why do you fear God? Do you love Him just for who He is? Can you serve Him simply for the sake of serving Him?
