A magnificent sight for a persecuted man

Just when Stephen’s listeners could not stand to hear him preach anymore, and they gnashed at him with their teeth, he saw something wonderful,

But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said,

“Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” (Acts 7:55–56).

I have often wondered what children of God first see after they die, or even if they see something just before they die. Stephen saw something. He saw both the Father and the Son.

Stephen noted that Jesus stood at the right hand of God, although other references that we have of Jesus He is seated at the right hand of God.

It appears that Jesus stood to receive His faithful disciple. Jesus never ceases to amaze me, for we should be standing for Him, but here He stood for one of His followers.
