Simon amazed people in Samaria with his sorcery, but when a true miracle worker came to town, Simon knew that he had found the genuine article, and he also believed the things that Philip preached,

Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done (Acts 8:13).

Sometimes we persuade ourselves that certain people just cannot be converted. However, we should not underestimate the power of the word of God on the hearts of men and women, regardless of how far gone they are, although that does not mean everyone will be converted.
