When memories terrify

The events that brought on his suffering happened months before, yet, he continued to say,

“Even when I remember I am terrified, And trembling takes hold of my flesh” (Job 21:6).

He remembered the day his servants brought him the bad news of the destruction of his wealth and then the destruction of his children, and some time later he lost his health. He never wanted to experience those times again.

What did Job do about it? He put everything in the context of God. Job knew that his life was in God’s hands, so, the man spoke to God without ceasing.

What do you do when life hits you hard?
