While Job and his three friends debated, others listened. One man in particular wanted to answer Job, but did not, believing the older men in their wisdom would answer the self-righteousness of Job.
However, they failed. Then the young man spoke. He said,
“The Spirit of God has made me,
And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”
(Job 33:4)
While the young man Elihu deferred to the older men, he also knew that God had made him as well as the older men. Therefore, Elihu believed he had something worthy for Job to consider. Elihu prepared the heart of Job to hear God.
