Just before God revealed His Son to Israel, God sent a man to Israel to prepare the hearts of the people that they might receive the Son of God, as Paul said, “after John had first preached, before His coming, the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel” (Acts 13:24).
The people could prepare themselves to receive the Son of God by repenting of their sins and being baptized by John for the forgiveness of their sins.
We receive Jesus in much the same way today. We have to repent of our sins and we have to be baptized—immersed in water—for the forgiveness of our sins, then the Spirit of the Son of God can enter our hearts.
Have you repented of your sins and been baptized?
