The Lord observes trouble

The psalmist ran into trouble with the godless, who believed they could do their evil, because they believed the Lord did not hold them accountable. However, the psalmist announced confidently,

But You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief,
To repay it by Your hand.
The helpless commits himself to You;
You are the helper of the fatherless.
Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man;
Seek out his wickedness until You find none.
(Psalm 10:14–15)

The wicked, such as criminals, believe they get away with their evil, because they do not experience consequences immediately, but the psalmist knew from observation that the Lord always punishes the wicked. Wait for it, and you shall see it.
