Most historians recognize that Paul was the catalyst behind much of the conversion of the Western world in the first century. How did he do it? Part of it was his attitude toward members of the church, such as toward the brethren in Rome,

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established—that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me (Romans 1:11–12).

Paul loved the brethren, and they knew it, and so they loved him. People of the world saw that love and wanted part of it.
