The inescapable judgment of the Lord

After denouncing various nations of Isaiah’s day, the Lord then spoke of the rest of the Earth, revealing an inescapable judgment headed the way of the Earth,

Fear and the pit and the snare
Are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.
And it shall be
That he who flees from the noise of the fear
Shall fall into the pit,
And he who comes up from the midst of the pit
Shall be caught in the snare;
For the windows from on high are open,
And the foundations of the earth are shaken.
(Isaiah 24.17–18)

Amos said something very similar, that when the judgment of the Lord arrives, trying to escape it will be like running from a lion, only to confront a bear, and then running from the bear, running into a house, leaning your hand on the wall, and a snake bites you (Amos 5.18–20).

For this reason, it is imperative to be a faithful child of God.
