When the Lord goes to battle

The Lord expects us to carry out justice, but if we fail to do so, He will do it, and it will not be pleasant. That is the message of Isaiah 59.1–18. However, good will come from it,

So shall they fear
The name of the Lord from the west,
And His glory from the rising of the sun;
When the enemy comes in like a flood,
The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.
“The Redeemer will come to Zion,
And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,”
Says the Lord.
(Isaiah 59.19–20)

They will fear because they have seen what the Lord does when men fail to carry out justice. Let us, therefore, do what the Lord expects of us, and He will do what He has promised.
