What city of the world holds our attention like Jerusalem? Yet, even with a glorious past, the city has persecuted prophets and killed the Son of God. The Lord has even found idolatry in the past in the city, and during the days of Jeremiah, the Lord promised to destroy Jerusalem because of its idolatry back then,

“I will take up a weeping and wailing for the mountains,
And for the dwelling places of the wilderness a lamentation,
Because they are burned up,
So that no one can pass through;
Nor can men hear the voice of the cattle.
Both the birds of the heavens and the beasts have fled;
They are gone.
I will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a den of jackals.
I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.”
(Jeremiah 9.10–11)

I have watched the trailers for the movie, “Jerusalem,” and hope to see the movie, but as I watched the trailers, I was saddened to think of all the trouble that has been in this city.
