Paul acknowledged that exercise for bodily health is good, but exercising godliness for this life and that which is to come, is better, and then he said,
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe (1 Timothy 4.9–10).
The reason spiritual health is even better than bodily health is because trusting in the living God is worthy of suffering reproach and it is worthy of all our labor. When we trust in the living God, He will save us, and that is a faithful saying that is worthy of all acceptance.
