Long before President Reagan told terrorists that they could run, but not hide, the Lord God of Israel told the Jews who ran to Egypt, thinking to escape the attacking of army of Babylon, that they could run to Egypt, but even there, He would seek them and punish them,
“Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I will set My face against you for catastrophe and for cutting off all Judah. And I will take the remnant of Judah who have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to dwell there, and they shall all be consumed and fall in the land of Egypt…For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem…’” (Jeremiah 44.11–14).
You can ask the mountains to fall upon you, but if the Lord has His sights set on you, there is no escaping His punishing hand. On the other hand, if He seeks to bless you, others can hide you, persecute you, and do all sorts of evil against you, but it will not stop Him from blessing you.
