How do we become perfect? We certainly cannot do it on our own. Those of us who read the Bible, learn quickly that we have sinned and ruined our efforts to reach perfection. Yet, we still want it. Where can we find it? How can we achieve it? The Book of Hebrews says,

Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron? (Hebrews 7.11).

The point being, that the God of heaven wants us to be perfect, and He showed us through the levitical priesthood that we cannot achieve it on our own. Therefore, He set up a new priesthood, based on the order of Melchizedek, with Jesus Christ as the High Priest, and He offered the perfect sacrifice that we finally might reach perfection.
