As I read Hebrews 11 concerning Moses, I thought to myself that he had a tough choice, that is, should he enjoy the passing pleasures of sin in Egypt, or go be with the children of Israel who suffered? Then I thought to myself that it may not have been a tough choice at all, but an easy one,
By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward (Hebrews 11.24–26).
Moses knew what he valued, and it was the reproach of Christ. To Moses, that was far better than anything the wealthy kingdom of Egypt offered.
