The Roman government exiled John to an island off the coast of modern Turkey. On a particular Lord’s day, John was in the Spirit, which I conclude means the apostle was quite and meditative. Then something happened that jolted out of that state,
I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet… (Revelation 1.10).
What would you have done? I think I would have jumped out of my skin. This trumpet like voice began a vision that has no equal anywhere in the Bible. John had no idea of the sights and sounds he was about to experience.
This man loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and he sought to be in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day. For that kind of disciple, the Lord made something magnificent happen. If you put yourself in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, the Lord will use you somehow, someway, at sometime, to do something wonderful for Him. Are you ready?
