The nation of Edom sinned, and because they had not repented, the Lord would not cut off the nation’s punishment, but Moab went too far in dealing with Edom. Therefore, the Lord had something against Moab,

Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of Moab, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
But I will send a fire upon Moab,
And it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth;
Moab shall die with tumult,
With shouting and trumpet sound.
And I will cut off the judge from its midst,
And slay all its princes with him,”
Says the Lord.
(Amos 2.1–3)

If you need to carry out the Lord’s discipline, do it only as He has instructed and do not go overboard.
