The Jews worked hard, but it did not help. It was as though they were putting coins into a bag with holes (Haggai 1.6). The reason they could not prosper economically was because they neglected God’s house. Therefore, the Lord said,
“‘Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,’ says the Lord” (Haggai 1.8).
I think the Western World in 2013 suffers economically because we are neglecting the Lord’s church for which He died. If we neglect that for which He died, why should He prosper us?
Do you need to reexamine your devotion to His church, which is the kingdom of God?
